Privacy Policy
Effective July 30, 2026 • Revecorp Inc.
Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Revecorp Inc. ("Revecorp," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with the VINTerpreter mobile application for iOS (the "App"). It applies only to the App. It does not cover Revecorp's websites or Revecorp's separate enterprise products, which are governed by their own notices.
VINTerpreter is offered only to users in the United States and its territories. By downloading or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy and to the VINTerpreter Terms of Use.
Who We Are
Revecorp Inc. owns and operates the App. For any privacy question or request, contact us:

How VINTerpreter Works
VINTerpreter decodes vehicle identification numbers (VINs), shows vehicle specifications and open recall information, helps you find nearby recall-repair dealers, and monitors the vehicles you save so it can alert you to new recalls by push notification and email. The App does not perform live mechanical diagnostics.
You do not create an account or log in. Instead, the App assigns your device a persistent identifier and links your saved vehicles, recall-monitoring choices, consent record, and subscription status to that identifier. Where this Policy refers to information "linked" to you, we mean information connected to that device identifier, which is how Apple defines linked data even when there is no named login.
Information We Collect
Device identifier. A persistent identifier the App assigns to your device, used to associate your saved vehicles, settings, consent, and subscription with the App.
VIN searches (search history). When you look up a VIN, the App sends the VIN together with your device identifier to Revecorp so we can return vehicle and recall data and show you your previous VIN lookups on that device.
Saved and monitored vehicle information. For vehicles you save, we store information such as year, make, model, and body type, along with your recall-monitoring selections.
Email address (optional). If you choose to receive recall alerts by email, we collect your email address and link it to your device identifier and monitored VINs. Providing an email is optional and is not required to use the App. No name or phone number is required in normal use of the App. If you email our support team, you may choose to share additional information in your message.
Purchase and subscription data. If you subscribe, Apple processes the payment through the App Store. We receive transaction identifiers, subscription status and dates, the product identifier, and Apple's signed transaction data. We never receive or process your payment card number.
Location (optional). If you use the nearby recall-repair dealer search, the App requests your location one time while you are using the App. Apple MapKit uses your location to run the dealer search. Your location is not stored as location history, is not linked to your device record, and is not sent to Revecorp.
Camera input (optional). If you use the VIN scanner, the App uses your camera to read a VIN barcode or printed VIN. The image is processed on your device to extract the VIN. Raw photos and video are not saved or uploaded, and the App does not access your photo library. If a VIN appears on a registration or other document, the App reads only the VIN and does not capture or upload the document or any other information on it.
Consent records. We record the version of this Policy and the Terms of Use you accepted, the date and time of acceptance, and the App and operating system version associated with that consent.
What We Do Not Collect
To be clear about our practices, VINTerpreter does not:
- collect biometric data. Apple may use Face ID or Touch ID to authorize an App Store purchase, but that happens entirely within Apple and Revecorp never receives your biometric information;
- collect microphone or voice data;
- track your location in the background or keep location history;
- use advertising or tracking software, show advertisements, or ask to track you across other apps and websites;
- use third-party analytics or crash-reporting services to collect your activity. Apple may independently collect App Store diagnostics under Apple's own policies;
- require or collect employer, organization, or workplace information;
- create inspection, employment, or professional diagnostic records; or
- collect Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, or financial account numbers.
App Permissions
You control these permissions in your device settings. Some features will not work without them.
Camera. Used only to scan a VIN barcode or printed VIN. Images are processed on your device and are not uploaded.
Location (While Using the App). Requested one time, in the foreground, only for the nearby recall-repair dealer search. There is no background location and no location tracking.
Notifications. Used to send recall alerts for the vehicles you monitor. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- decode VINs and show vehicle specifications and recall information;
- save and monitor your selected vehicles and notify you of new recalls by push notification and, if you opt in, email;
- run the optional nearby-dealer search;
- process and manage your subscription and provide the correct free or paid features;
- respond to your support requests;
- maintain the security and integrity of the App and prevent misuse; and
- keep records required for legal and compliance purposes, including proof of consent.
Cookies & Tracking
VINTerpreter does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-app or cross-site tracking, and it does not sell or share your personal information. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out request under California law. Because we do not sell or share personal information, a GPC signal confirms our existing practice. There is no single accepted standard for browser "Do Not Track" signals, so we do not respond to them.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We disclose information only as follows:
Platform and service providers. We use trusted providers to operate the App, including Revecorp's own backend infrastructure, Apple StoreKit for subscription processing, Apple MapKit for the dealer search, and Apple Push Notification Service for recall alerts. These providers may process information only to provide their service to us.
Recall and vehicle data sources. VIN and vehicle information is checked against recall and vehicle-data sources, including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and automotive-data providers, to return specifications and recall information.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information when required by a valid subpoena, court order, warrant, or other lawful process, or when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent harm or illegal activity, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, Revecorp, or the public.
Business transfers. If Revecorp is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, and the receiving party will remain bound by this Policy for information collected before the transfer.
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. If this ever changes, we will update this Policy, provide clear notice, and honor all applicable opt-out mechanisms including GPC.
Data Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy, to meet legal obligations, or to resolve disputes.
- Device identifier and saved or monitored vehicle information. Kept while you use the App or keep vehicles enrolled in recall monitoring. If there is no activity and no monitored vehicle for 24 months, we delete or de-identify these records. We complete verified deletion requests within 30 days. Residual copies in backups may persist for up to 90 additional days.
- VIN search history. Kept for 24 months from the date of the search. If a VIN is saved for ongoing recall monitoring, we keep it until monitoring ends and then delete it within 30 days. Backup copies may persist for up to 90 additional days.
- Email address. Kept while recall email alerts are enabled. We remove it from active systems within 30 days after you disable all email alerts or submit a verified deletion request. Backup copies may persist for up to 90 additional days.
- Consent records. Kept for at least three years after you consent, or one year after your subscription or relationship with us ends, whichever is later, consistent with California's Automatic Renewal Law.
- Subscription and transaction records. Kept for seven years after the transaction or the end of the subscription for accounting, audit, tax, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution purposes. We do not retain payment-card information.
We may keep de-identified or aggregated data, which can no longer reasonably identify you or your device, for analysis and product improvement.
Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit and, where feasible, at rest, access limited to authorized personnel, and secure development practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Breach Notification
If a security breach involves unencrypted personal information and is reasonably likely to cause harm, we will notify affected users in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay, as required by applicable state law, including California Civil Code section 1798.82 for California residents. Our notice will describe the categories of information involved, the incident, our response, and how to reach us with questions.
Children's Privacy
VINTerpreter is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Before using the App, users confirm they are at least 13 years old. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us at privacy@revecorp.com.
Your Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the right to:
- know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions;
- obtain a portable copy of your personal information; and
- not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you, so no opt-out of sale, sharing, or sensitive-data use is necessary. If that ever changes, we will provide the required "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" and sensitive-data controls.
Residents of other US states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights and can contact us at privacy@revecorp.com.
To exercise your rights, email privacy@revecorp.com or call +1 (916) 786-1006. Because the App identifies you only by a device identifier, we may ask you to provide information from within the App so we can match your request to the correct device records. If we cannot verify a request, we may be unable to fulfill it. You may use an authorized agent, who must provide proof of authorization.
California Civil Code section 1798.83 ("Shine the Light") lets California residents request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for those third parties' direct marketing. Revecorp does not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, for material changes, provide notice in the App. Your continued use of the App after the effective date means you accept the updated Policy.

Terms of Use
Your use of the App is also governed by the VINTerpreter Terms of Use. By using the App, you agree to those terms and to this Policy.
Terms of Use
Effective July 30, 2026 • Revecorp Inc.
Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Revecorp Inc. ("Revecorp," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the VINTerpreter mobile application for iOS (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to the VINTerpreter Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
These Terms include a binding individual arbitration provision and a class action waiver in Section 16 that affect how disputes between you and Revecorp are resolved. Please read them carefully.
The App and What It Does
VINTerpreter decodes vehicle identification numbers (VINs), displays vehicle specifications and open recall information, helps you locate nearby recall-repair dealers, and monitors the vehicles you save for new recalls by push notification and email. The App does not perform mechanical diagnostics and does not create inspection, repair, employment, or professional reports. It is an informational tool.
The App does not require you to create an account. It identifies your installation by a persistent device identifier, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App, and you confirm that you are when you first use it. The App is offered only to users in the United States and its territories. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you.
License to Use the App
Subject to these Terms, Revecorp grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to download and use one copy of the App on an Apple device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by Revecorp and its licensors.
Subscriptions and Automatic Renewal
The App is free to download. Free users may monitor up to four vehicles for recalls. A paid subscription unlocks recall monitoring for an unlimited number of vehicles.
Subscriptions are sold as auto-renewable subscriptions billed through your Apple account using Apple StoreKit. Current pricing is $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year. The price and billing period are shown in the App before you confirm a purchase, and the price shown at the time of purchase applies. Prices may change as described in Section 18, and any change will apply only to future billing periods.
Your subscription automatically renews for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends, at the then-current price. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple account settings.
Cancellation, Refunds, and Restoring Purchases
You may cancel at any time through your Apple account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep paid features until then. We do not provide partial-period refunds except where required by law.
Because Apple processes payment for the App, refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies, and Revecorp generally cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases. To request a refund, contact Apple.
If you reinstall the App or use a new device, you can restore an active subscription through the App using the same Apple account.
Recall and Vehicle Data; Informational Use Only
Vehicle specifications and recall information come from third-party sources, including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and automotive-data providers. This information is provided for general informational purposes only.
The information may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate, and the absence of a recall in the App does not mean a vehicle has no open recalls. Always confirm recalls, remedies, and repairs directly with NHTSA, the vehicle manufacturer, or an authorized dealer before relying on them.
Do not rely on the App for safety-critical decisions. The App is not a substitute for professional inspection, manufacturer guidance, or the advice of a qualified technician.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App;
- reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except to the limited extent this restriction is prohibited by law;
- access the App by automated means, scrape it, or bulk-download its data;
- interfere with or disrupt the App, its servers, or its networks, or circumvent usage limits, security, or authentication;
- use the App to build a competing product, or to resell or redistribute vehicle or recall data; or
- misuse another person's information or use the App to infringe the rights of others.
Intellectual Property
The App, including its software, design, text, graphics, and the selection and arrangement of its content, is owned by Revecorp or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. "VINTerpreter," "Revecorp," and related names and logos are trademarks of Revecorp. These Terms grant you a limited license to use the App and do not transfer any ownership to you. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written permission.
Third-party data and content made available through the App remain the property of their respective owners.
Third-Party Services and Data
The App relies on third-party services, including Apple (the App Store, StoreKit, MapKit, and Push Notification Service), NHTSA, automotive-data providers, and map services. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control, and are not responsible for, third-party services or the accuracy of third-party data.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The App and all content and data are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. Revecorp does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any vehicle or recall information is accurate, complete, or current. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Revecorp and its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Revecorp's total liability for all claims relating to the App will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Revecorp for the App in the twelve months before the claim or twenty-five US dollars ($25). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Revecorp and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your misuse of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
Termination
These Terms remain in effect while you use the App. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the App. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, and dispute resolution, will survive.
Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to the arbitration provision below, any dispute not resolved by arbitration will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Placer County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Dispute Resolution; Arbitration; Class Action Waiver
Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights and requires most disputes to be resolved by individual arbitration rather than in court.
Informal resolution first. Before starting arbitration, you agree to contact us at privacy@revecorp.com and give us 30 days to try to resolve the dispute informally.
Binding arbitration. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and Revecorp agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App will be resolved by binding, individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. The Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of this provision. Either party may still bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies.
How arbitration works. The arbitration will be held in the county where you live, or by telephone, videoconference, or written submission, unless you and Revecorp agree otherwise. The arbitrator's decision will be final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction. Payment of arbitration fees is governed by the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules, and each party is responsible for its own attorneys' fees except where the rules or applicable law provide otherwise.
Class action waiver. You and Revecorp agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, consolidated, or representative proceeding. If this class action waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim will be severed and heard in court, while the remaining claims proceed in arbitration.
30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration provision within 30 days after you first accept these Terms by emailing privacy@revecorp.com with a request to opt out and your device or subscription details. If you opt out, the Governing Law and Venue section above will apply to your disputes.
Apple-Specific Terms
The following terms apply because you obtain the App through the Apple App Store:
- These Terms are between you and Revecorp only, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price to you, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App, including product-liability claims, claims that the App fails to meet a legal requirement, and claims under consumer-protection or privacy law.
- Apple is not responsible for investigating, defending, settling, or discharging any third-party claim that the App or your use of it infringes intellectual property rights.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo and are not listed on any US Government restricted-parties list.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, for material changes, provide notice in the App. Your continued use of the App after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
